Instagram has introduced a new monetization feature called Testimonials, which allows creators to earn money by posting paid endorsements in the comments section of brand posts and advertisements on the platform. These endorsements are short written testimonials, limited to 125 characters, that creators submit to brands and are then pinned at the top of the comments section on Feed posts and Reels, ensuring high visibility.

This feature is part of Meta’s Partnership Ads program and enables creators to monetize product recommendations transparently by self-identifying as paid partners. This transparency helps maintain trust with followers since creators publicly associate their names with the products they endorse, risking their reputation if the products do not meet expectations.

Brands and creators negotiate deals and payments directly outside of Instagram, and creators can track their testimonials through the Creator Settings on the app. They also have the option to withdraw their testimonials if needed.

Meta highlights that 40% of Instagram users rely on creator recommendations for shopping decisions, making this a significant monetization opportunity for creators while providing brands with authentic, visible endorsements integrated into the comments section.
